What is the current state of online poker?

For U.S players, online poker has virtually been shut down. with the exception of a few pros who currently reside outside the U.S. online poker is gone from players in the U.S. Myself being a poker player and someone who used to play online, i am waiting for the day when congress legalizes online poker.

The U.S. players will swarm back to their favorite websites, re-activating accounts and getting back into the game. I yearn to be playing online again, just like in England, Spain, Canada, pretty much any country outside the U.S. Congress needs to realize that they are missing out on a gold mine of taxes. The U.S. is way behind other countries. We Struggle to get out of this hole that we have buried ourselves into and yet we still will not pass a law that will generate untold billions of dollars in tax revenue. The U.S. is so politically correct that we are afraid to pass laws because someone might be offended. if you don’t like gambling or sports betting, great! Just because it is ok to do it doesn’t mean you have too. Alcohol is legal yet i know many people who do not partake. I don’t understand how we are just a few years away from having marijuana legal yet so many people frown upon online gaming.

One thing i think about is maybe it isn’t the people who are against it. Maybe a little city in the desert might have lobbyists on their side to prevent it. I mean, if you can gamble and play any game you want, any stakes, anytime, would there be a need for you to book that hotel room, purchase the airline ticket, take time off work. Could it be that little city in the desert is afraid their bottom line will suffer if less people visit? That is just my opinion. I really don’t think legal online gaming would hurt them. Actually i know it wouldn’t. i can’t wait for the day i can play poker online again. When that day comes, i will still make those trips to that little city in the desert. I guess for the time being i will be old school and go to my local card room. Speaking of that i better get going. To all of you in jolly old England, enjoy having that luxury of playing online.

I know i can speak for everyone here across the pond when i say we are on the edge of our seats waiting to get back online.

Fun or Not so Fun?

Gambling is fun activity. Sadly, it is also an addictive activity. However, no matter where you go, there are all sorts of ways to gamble. The lottery, slot machines, poker, blackjack, and craps are only a few ways to gamble. Not everyone is able to get in a car, a plane, or a train and just go away for a few days to gamble at a Casino somewhere.

That is why recently in the last few years online casinos have been popping up everywhere! I enjoy going to casinos to gamble. I am a slot machine fanatic! When I am not at a casino, I am trying my best to find the “best place to gamble.” Online seems to do the trick! Not only does it feel my desire to win, it also is convenient. I can play in the middle of the night, during the day on my lunch break, or even when I am at a casino and tired of the smoke filled air: I can just slip away to my room and play online. There are way too many online places to choose from when you are looking for a place to gamble. But what is different than having your favorite land casino? Not much at all! Everyone has their favorite game that they play. Everyone has that “set amount” to lose.

Sadly, online gambling takes that bankroll a whole lot faster than those of land casinos! But do not let that persuade you not to play online! There have been numerous jackpot winners online. From £500 free play, to $1 million dollar jackpots, you have the same odds as winning online than you do in a real casino.

The odds are always in the casino’s favor, rather online or offline. I have always been told that lightning only strikes once. So go ahead and press your luck. You never know if you will be the lightning rod today!

Eldery Poker Playas

I am an elderly woman and I used to belong to a poker club that met twice a month. One dollar anti, and you could bet two dollars, first bet. It was so much fun, I used to wait for those days I loved them so much. Over the years my friends passed away, moved, quit playing and the club finally was no more. My grandchildren gave me a computer to keep me company and I found the games. I started with bingo and finally discovered play poker for money. Can you imagine how great that was for me? Now some action, and it would not cost an arm or leg.

That was my first mistake. I could not wait to get home from work, eat supper and go the computer.I started out kind of reasonable, but that changed pretty soon. I would have a full house, someone would have a straight flush. It was amazing to me, you seldom could fill a hand. After six months I had to stop, it was an addiction I did not need. I found myself staying up very late and suffering at work the next day.

After I quit someone told me they had professionals working for them and against the players, I don’t know if I believe that, but I was really unlucky when I played poker with them.

But when the players talked to each other, sometimes they would say they got a check for x amount of dollars. I never even got close to the numbers. I have to tell you I found my self sitting down to the computer and my fingers would be itching to play. You could watch if you liked, I even did that just to be somehow involved. I finally said to myself, “you are crazy” and I made my self stop.I took up painting, but it is not that much fun. I miss playing, even if I lost. I guess this it what they mean, when you are hooked on something. Later I heard that some of the poker clubs had gotten fined and some were even barred from television So maybe the naith sayers were correct. I hope people are careful when they start to play these games, you can really get hurt if you are not careful

Modern Casinos… on line

Online casinos are just one of the many modern conveniences brought about by the modern technological world. But like many other things that are replicated in cyber-space, it just is not the real thing. Everyone understands that for the most part, gambling is synonymous to losing. You do not go to a casino expecting to win a fortune, you are there to have fun. You go for the experience, the atmosphere of the casino, from the brilliant light displays, to the dealer’s vest. All of this is lost in the online world. However, online casinos still offer the adrenaline rush of placing a wager, and so people still use them. And so, for those of you that are not deterred, here are some tips to lose less at an online casino.

Online casinos will often advertise that the odds on their table games are much better than real casinos. This is true, in fact, some online blackjack tables are tipped only a mere 0.5% in the house’s favour, compared to some tables in Vegas that go beyond 2%. But you should be careful not to fall into this trap. In the real world, it takes minutes to go through a single hand. The dealer has to manually deal out each card one by one, chips have to change hands, the man sitting next to you might take a while to think about each move. In an online casino, click-click and you have completed one hand. You can easily lose more money in an online casino than you would in the same amount of time in a real casino because of this. Remember always to pace yourself, and since you are online, do not be afraid to use your resources. It is perfectly legal to use a cheat sheet at an online blackjack table and even if it were not, nobody could catch you in your own room.

In online poker, the problems get even worse. It is easy to spot someone cheating at a live table, but behind a screen, you have no way of telling if the people you are playing against are live people, or robots waiting to take your money. Even if they are not robots, they can still cheat to record your betting patterns, calculate pot odds, or be playing multiple hands at the same table to have an advantage in odds calculation. This is one game I would avoid unless you are a professional. If you ask me, the risks associated with online casinos far outweigh the benefits and your money is better spent elsewhere. But if you must, remember to always pace yourself, use your resources, and play carefully.
